SEO: 3 letters, big impact

Search. Engine. Optimization; otherwise known as trying to school the Google algorithm. How do you show up on the first page of Google? How do you get more clicks from people looking for the services you offer? SEO, baby.

Now search engine optimization isn’t the silver bullet. Instead, it is simply another brick in the foundation of a round strategy.

According to Oxford Languages, “search engine optimization” is defined as “the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine.” In laymen's terms, it's about understanding what your target market would be searching to find a solution to their problem.

When a person uses a search engine, they are trying to find answers. Who has the best BBQ? Where can I find a doctor who does rapid COVID tests? Who sells size 4 ballet shoes at this hour? Thinking about what your potential customer needs and how your company can solve their problems will go a long way. With the right SEO, Google, and other search engines, will rank your page higher as it clearly provides a value to its users, which in turn, brings that user back to their search engine creating a self-serving loop.

So, how do you do this? By creating high-quality content on your website. Things like blogging, expert analysis, having keywords throughout your website that are relevant to those searching for your services. The first step is to really search what you think your company provides, look at the top results and compare to your current website. What are the other guys doing to land themselves on page 1? Can you provide a better answer/solution? Determine what aspects of their sites are successful and failing then do better.

The beauty of it is that the traffic generated through SEO is organic growth, and not forced through paid avenues. Over time, the numbers for a sound SEO strategy can pay dividends with only a little sweat equity invested. If you need help rounding out a solid strategy to provide content to prospective customers, new voice studios can help get you on the right track and bring in consistent traffic through helping content.
